Objective:

Propose Information and Communication Technology solutions to address climate change impacts in Latin America

Description:

Students must submit proposals to their local ComSoc chapters in their countries.

The proposal should include:

  • a written description
  • a pitch by the author

 

Selection criteria:

  • Students that participate must have an active IEEE and ComSoc membership.
  • Students must be registered as undergraduate or graduate student.
  • Ideas should be aligned with climate change issues in the country of residence of the author.
  • The proposal should create awareness in society and generate small changes that help the general purpose.

 

Selection process:

  • One winner per country will be selected.
  • Out of the winners per country, one winner will be selected for all LATAM.
  • Winners per country will receive a mention.
  • The pitch of each winner per country will be published in social networks.
  • The winner will be recognized at LATINCOM 2024.

 

Prize:

The prize for the winner will be the registration and flight tickets to participate in LATINCOM 2024.

 

Important dates:

  • Call open: July 5th 2024
  • Application deadline: August 31st 2024 (ultra, ultra extended)
  • Announce winners per country: September 5th 2024
  • Announce final winner: October 5th 2024
  • Prize for final winner: LATINCOM 2024, November 6 – 8th 2024
