Panama Chapter Chair
Héctor Poveda is an associate professor at the Facultad de Ingeniería Eléctrica of the Universidad Tecnológica de Panamá since 2012. He is currently the coordinator of the Research Group in Advanced Digital Communication Systems and research coordinator at the Facultad de Ingeniería Eléctrica. Héctor is member of the national research system of Panama. In addition, he is a board member of the IEEE ComSoc Latin America. During 2009 and 2011 he has been instructor at the ENSEIRB-MATMECA in France. He has a PhD in digital communications and digital signal processing from the Université de Bordeaux and a MSc in digital signal and image processing from the Université de Bordeaux. Héctor has an engineering diploma in electronics and telecommunications from the Universidad Tecnológica de Panamá. He has published over 30 papers in journals and conferences. His research and development interests are estimation methods for multicarrier systems, interference coordination in wireless systems, LoRa technology, IoT and 5G concepts.
