Panama Chapter Chair
YESSICA SAEZ is an electronics and telecommunications engineer, graduated from the Universidad Tecnológica de Panamá and a specialist in higher education from the Universidad del Istmo de Panamá. She holds an MEng and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas, USA.
She currently works as a researcher and professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering of the Universidad Tecnológica de Panamá. Dr. Sáez has taught undergraduate and graduate courses, such as: Signal and Image Processing, Digital Circuits, Analogue and Digital Communications Systems, Networks and Protocols, as well as different seminars and workshops in her research area. She is the coordinator of the Research Group on Telecommunications Engineering and Intelligent Systems Applied to Society (ITSIAS), an active member of the research groups in Mechatronics and the research group for Simulation, modeling and analysis of networks, Technologies and Energy Systems (SMARTS-E) of the Universidad Tecnológica de Panamá, where she collaborates in several research projects. She has several publications in national and international high impact scientific journals, has participated and presented scientific articles in various national and international congresses and also holds invention patents. She is a member of the National Research System – SNI of Panama, a member of the Panamanian Association for the Advancement of Science (APANAC) and IEEE Senior Member.
