B.Sc. degree in Electronics and Communications Engineering, University of Guadalajara. Master´s degree in Applied Computer Science from the ITESO University.

Araceli worked in activities related with the radioelectric spectrum administration in the Secretaría de Comunicaciones y Transportes, an office of the Mexican Government. She has been Professor in the Electronics, Systems and Informatics Department (DESI) at ITESO and in other universities in Guadalajara. She is full professor at ITESO. Araceli was the Academic Coordinator of the Undergraduate Program of Electronics Engineering and member of the Department Council of the DESI. Co-founder of the Electronic Engineering Group of Homologues of the Guadalajara City. Co-founder and member of the Board of Directors of the Jalisciense Union of Engineering Associations, UJAI. She was member of the Consultative Council of CADELEC Guadalajara (Cadena de la Industria Electrónica). She was the ITESO Linkage Office Coordinator and Member of the Regional Liaison Network of the National Association of Universities and Higher Education Institutions, ANUIES. Member of the Consultative Council of Ciudad Creativa Digital, the Guadalajara Government Smart Cities project. Currently she teaches courses on Professional Application Projects at ITESO Interdisciplinary Centre for Training and Social Linkage.

At IEEE she was ComSoc Guadalajara Chapter Chair, 2001-2004 and 2007-2012; ComSoc Regional Director R9, 2006-2007; Guadalajara Section Chair, 2007-2008; Member of the Membership Program Development Board, 2004-2007; Mentor of ITESO Student Branch 2012-2014; MAL ComSoc BoG, 2015-2017. Co-chair in several IEEE Conferences. Chair WIE Guadalajara 2019-2020. Currently she is Member of the WIE R9 Committee, Technical Activities and Member of R9 WIE Chairs Mentoring.

Distinctions: UNIVA University, 1995-1997; ITESO, 2000 and 2020. IEEE ComSoc Chapter Achievement Award, 2003; Engineer of the year, 2004.
