For the last 25 years, Mario Castano has been the Technical Director of CINTEL, the most recognized independent ICT development center of Colombia, where he has led exciting innovation and consultancy projects in technical, policy, regulatory and strategic subjects for telecommunications operators, government entities and the industry. With professional emphasis on digital transformation, regulation and business strategy, Mario has directly contributed to the development of the Colombian digital ecosystem and the implementation of new technologies in Latinoamerica.  Before joining CINTEL, he worked in ICT applied research at U. de los Andes (Colombia), IKERLAN (Spain) and TELECOM (Colombia). He has been a professor of graduate and continuing education programs, and has participated as a lecturer in multiple conferences and seminars in Colombia and Europe. Mario holds an Electrical Engineer degree from Universidad de los Andes and graduate degrees in telematics, management and economics.
